We hand pick our staff very carefully with safety, professionalism, rapport and continuity at the heart of what we do. The Little House has a very low staff turnover, with our key staff having been with us for over a decade, further enhancing the family feeling of the nursery.
We now have a Paediatric Nurse on site at the nursery with 10 years paediatric nursing experience and a member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council.
We pride ourselves on our staff/child ratio which is better than the Ofsted recommendations and central to the success and safety of our childcare.
Baby Room: Ratio 1:2 or 3
Age Two to Three: Ratio 1:4
Age Three to Five: Ratio 1:5 or 6
External Outings: Ratio 1:2
We also pay close attention to the continuing professional development of all our staff and they have regular training in the following areas:
– Safeguarding with Child Protection
– First Aid
– Food Hygiene
– Behaviour Management
– Fire Marshalls (fire drills every three months)
– Equality, Inclusion, Diversity
All our staff undergo annual Health & Safety Training
We take the security of your child extremely seriously and have OFSTED approved procedures in place with the addition of video cam entry phone. All our staff are fully DBS checked personally by the Little House regardless of whether this has already been done by a previous employer. Staff are re checked every three years.
All staff who care for children have Level 3 Safeguarding Training which is updated every other year.
